Remembering September 11, 2001

I’ve finally found some time to read the September 14, 2006, issues of the Spiritual Newsletter about September 11, 2001. As I read this newsletter, my mind went back to that day five years ago when I heard about the Twin Towers. I didn’t hear about the twin tower until I got to work, I don’t remember why I didn’t watch the news that morning. The reason could have been anything from not having batteries for the remote to a choice between the news and getting ready for work. Any way I didn’t what the news and so I didn’t hear about the Twin Towers until I got to work.

I worked in a place that didn’t have television, but had an internet connection. Therefore, we turned on one computer and left it on msn.com the entire day. We received all the information that msn had about the planes, the collapse of the Towers, the Pentagon and everything else that concerned the situation.

Other things I remember about 2001 after September 11 had to do with people questioning their faith. Many people wanted to know “How could God allow something like that to happen?”, while others simply stopped believing. The fall of the Twin Towers didn’t have an affect on my faith in God.

The effect the Twin Towers did have on me was to cause me to look at the things I’ve been putting off or the things I’m considering doing. Now ask one of two questions. I ask either why I’m putting it off or why I’m considering doing something? I’m doing a lot more of the stuff I put off and a lot less of the stuff I don’t want to do?
