My thoughts, emotions, frustrations. In short, my life such as it is.

Here we go again.....
I feel a flare up of my rheumatoid coming. It always starts with me feeling exhausted no matter how much rest I get. I sure as hell hope it's something else but I have a feeling it isn't. Maybe I will be lucky this time. God, I hope so. The last bad episode was over 2 weeks long and required MASSIVE doses of steroids to be able to even move like a human being. Not to mention the swelling in my joints and the absolute throbbing that accompanied it. Talk about miserable! I finally saw a rhematologist during that episode and even with all the steroids I got a card from his office telling me that my labwork showed "acute severe inflammation." DUH!!!!!!

I suppose if that's what's coming the only thing I ca do is bear it. I do have another appointment with Dr. Meadow, my rheumatologist on the 28th. I suppose if my arthritis is flared up they can do something to help. Hopefully, not more steroids since I am now on them daily albeit a small dose. According to the doctor, steroids not only keep down the inflammation they help control damage to the joints. Too late for my crooked thumbs and index fingers but I suppose it will help the other fingers.

I only hope this winter is mild and the days of cold weather with rain will be minimal. Those days are the ones I want to stay in bed and moan and it's not the kind of moaning most people enjoy...LOL.
