Freedom of speech
There are people who died in combat and people who are fighting right now to protect our freedoms. For example, freedom of speech. Carlos Mencia said, "If we do not exercise this freedom, if we do not say what it is on our mind, if we hold our tongue, then these soldiers are dying in vain."

When I was younger I thought you could say anything you wanted and not get in trouble for it. Then, I learned that I can not say a cuss word around my parents because I would probably get slapped. As I became a teenager, I learned that you can not yell FIRE in public if there ain't really a fire. That is a federal offense punishable by law.

I also learned about slander and libel. I learned that certain things will get you expelled from high school and I learned about something called "hate mail" That's right! You can not cut up a picture of your ex-girlfriend and mail it to her because it might be viewed as a threat.

Where is this freedom of speech I heard about?

First they said you could burn a flag, then you could not...and now...well, who knows anymore? Hey, I am just as patriotic as the next guy, but what about MY rights? I am afraid to display any Christmas decorations at work because I might offend somebody of another religion. I am afraid to talk about gay people because I might be viewed as prejudice. I am not sure whether to call Barack Obama black, negro or African-American. All three seem offensive to me. He is not really "black"...he is kinda like a brownish color.............LOL..........now Bernie Mac on the other hand...........LOL

African-American? Maybe if he used to live in Africa and now he lives in America, maybe? For example, I would be an Oklahoma-Texan.

Well, I am just venting...just trying to ruffle some feathers.
Just trying to exercise my freedom of speech.
