Beyond sight

Where there is only blue, which blue defines us draws us into shadows sends us to the other shore of sky or sea. Which wave or breeze will bear us forward, drown us in the depths, release us to the gossamer of light receding in the west. What storm approaches from the southern edge. And what of lines that stretch beyond the images of dreams. Perhaps they'll lead us to another shade of blue.

Inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's Blue II (1958):

However ... the postcard had it inverted and there are details not seen in this image, such as two indigo lines that stretch across the canvas drawing the eye to the right and left edges. In this image it looks like a mountain with a glaring sun. Not in the other. Still, it is quite abstract and the poem reflects that.

ME:

Got quite warm yesterday afternoon and this morning it is already windy and warming up. Today 70s, tomorrow thunder.

Tired. Didn't stay out last night. Even got a call from a friend ... just worn out.

WATT'S GNUS:

My friend John Lee is working on issues of determining the age of rocks using apatite. He studied the Grand Canyon. Saw this issue on line and wouldn't be surprised if he were involved:

WRITING:

I've done 8 responses to O'Keeffe artwork. If I do 50 (just for arguments sake) could 15-20 be good enough for a chapbook? I could even visit the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fé and see some of her works for real! *Delight*

Kansas: 61º, very breezy and warming up. ** Image ID #1329288 Unavailable **
