This blog will highlight insights from my odd and somewhat weird life.

Timing is Everything
I saw a video on FB from someone who implored people not to ace out commercial truck drivers, especially in the winter. Someone did not get the memo. I was eastbound on Hwy 94 when I saw the traffic lanes backed up, then espied the warning sign that there was a crash in middle lane near Hwy 55. I got as far over to the right side with the intent to take side streets to work. Turns out I did not have to do that. The accident occurred because a little bitty car like a Hyundai Sonata had tried to ace out a semi. Semi – 1 (undamaged for the most part), stupid driver in little itty bitty car – 0. (No one was hurt – Thank God) I got to work on time.

I had also posted a public service message about the value of a second. I woke up this morning half an hour late and did not get on the road until 10 minutes after my usual start time. Had I been on time, I would have been in the middle of that mess. Had I been even five minutes earlier, the warning sign would not have been posted and I would have been stuck in the sit-and-wait lane until the traffic cleared. Had the little bitty car not been in such an all fired hurry, I would not have had anything to write about today. See? Timing really is everything.
