Wednesday, February 15, 2017 I learned to type because my fingers remembered the keys. The "Blogging Circle of Friends " prompt for DAY 1553 "Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers." Isaac Asimov What is writing to you? Do you agree or disagree with Mr. Asimov? Fingers of the Mind Do I think through my fingers? Thinking with or through your fingers can be a lot safer then thinking with other parts of you body. I driven a car long enough to know that many people don't think with their heads when they're behind the wheel. When I write I attempt to think with my brain which doesn't always happen. This is especially true when I enter The Zone. I'm not sure what I'm thinking with in The Zone perhaps my subconscious mind. I know that when I reach that point I write without thinking about anything. My finger type without any conscious effort on my part. In The Zone In the zone my fingers are not my own, they type without conscious direction. In the zone I don't worry about syntax, typos, plot or character. In the zone I type character after character, line after line, stanza after stanza without conscious thought my mind a blank slate for my muse. |
