Good night at church.
Today has been good. I still slept in late but oh well. Tobber reviewed my Three Prompts story. From the look of the review it was better than my previous story she reviewed. She said my writing has improved immensely from my earlier pieces. (= I will continue to edit my last story which I plan to submit as my FSFS anthology story. It is a tedious process.
I started reading a Christian book by the dude who founded Gospel For Asia. It is good but he gives a very extreme example of living as a Christian. It is literally living with no possessions, no clothes but the clothes on your back, no home or car or even a shower. This is funny as he himself does not live like that. I’m not slandering him but making an observation. He has fifty Bible colleges stationed all over the world and ordains over 8k missionaries a year.
I just got off the phone with Chad. He has to work for the next three days and he does not feel like it-big supersize. That is probably the general attitude in the US.
Well, my mom and I are leaving Vegas exactly twenty days from now. My bro Josh sent a letter written in the mannerism of a British man. It was funny; my mom read it to me I a British accent. Two things I caught were a Crispy Crème place and Starbucks. We’ll be going to those places.
I had ribs for lunch. We tried cooking it differently and it was much better! My mom had a dentist appointment so I had to finish cooking them myself.
So there are three writing things I am focusing on: not info dumping, showing and not telling, and focusing on scene than summary. Tobber told me about not using explanation but using actions and words to reveal it and then sprinkle it throughout the story. She was very helpful.
Let’s see what else? The sermon last night was interesting. Some of it was about giving God 100%. Most of us allocate our attention and time to different things. It is not supposed to be so.
Well it is late so I will bid thee ado.
