Hi Prof! I decided to work on one of the challenges for "Invalid Item" , and reviewing you was one of the requirements. I'm not sure if I have ever perused your portfolio before, but it does seem likely, given how long you've been kicking around WDC.

On this particular trip through your portfolio, I didn't get very far. I saw your folder for "Beyond the Red" and noticed that it is pretty new. I hadn't heard of it before and wanted to see what it was all about. That is as far as I got. I read the details of the group, came and poked around in the forum to see what sorts of things people were reviewing, and decided to review you right here.

I think that this is an amazing idea for a group. I'm a GC writer myself. Lower than 18+ is a rarity, and GC is most common. My blog, poetry blog, etc are all GC. I tackle inappropriate topics and tend to mix lots of disturbing imagery and gutter talk into my work. I think that this group is definitely unique and also needed on WDC.

All of the language and examples seem to be aimed at fiction though. I write poetry rather than fiction, but I assume that poetry would be welcome as well? That does fit the "all types" statements made throughout. I don't know if it would help any, but if poetry is an acceptable part of this group, you might want to note that someplace. It looks like most of your members are also story writers, and you might get more if you mention poetry. Not many more probably, but some. Personally, I love reading GC stories too... war, gore, horror. Good stuff.

Anyway, that's it. I think this is an awesome idea. Do you credit reviews? Is there any sort of incentive (say, a merit badge for doing 15 or 20 or etc reviews in a month)? You might get lots more reviews if you run it sort of like Anniversary Reviews or the Newbie Welcome Wagon. People love to double up on the incentives for reviews. I'll be back to poke around and see how the group is progressing too. It's awesome to come do a random review and find something of real interest that I have never seen before! I wish that always happened!
