Hello and welcome to this edition of the Spiritual Newsletter!
A funny thing happened on the way to submitting this edition. My computer crashed, erasing all programs, documents and pictures. Not so funny, huh? I have absolutely no idea how or why it happened. All I know for sure is that it happened while my son was using it, and while I was at work. Of course he called to warn me of said crash. To say that I was unhappy is a gross understatement. (Note to self – apologize profusely to son, again.)
Upon returning home from work, I did everything I could to avoid the infernal contraption. Doing dishes, starting a load of wash, and getting dinner on the table were by far more tempting activities. I avoided the machine out of nothing more than fear. Fear that I wouldn’t be able to fix the problem. Fear that I’d not have access to the Internet. Fear that I’d not have access to wdc! With a mere 48 hours standing between a deadline and me, very real terror had taken up residence in the pit of my stomach.
Summoning all the patience I could muster (which for me is a difficult feat at best), the machine and I faced off. After two hours I was able to restore the system, including Internet access. Hallelujah! Ahhhh…. not so fast Grasshopper! After many clicking noises, and little messages at the bottom of the screen stating, “Internet access not working”, I got down on my hands and knees, not to pray, but to attempt to fix another problem. Each cord was unplugged, and plugged in again. This is what the troubleshooting guide advised one to do in this situation. Well gee, thanks! Now, I have no Internet access at all! Argghhhhh!!!!

So, after three separate attempts to write this edition, this one is being penned from a computer in my office at work. I know. It’s cheating. But I was desperate! This may be a true blessing for you folks out there, because it’s going to be short and to the point, and not at all about a previously chosen topic.
Before the difficulties of the past 48 hours, I had perused the SNL folder in my port seeking inspiration. The most surprising find was that this is my 28th issue. During this 28 month journey, topics have ranged anywhere from the glories of God’s creation and our resistance to appreciating it, to my Christian beliefs and how they help me deal with life on a day to day basis. Imagine having your own time slot, your own audience, your own soapbox, and freedom of speech to speak your mind! All in all, this newsletter has been a true labor of love, a time of growth and understanding.
In that time, I’ve been privy to the number of members who subscribe, as have all the editors of all the NL’s. And of course, we each know how many members take the time to send in comments. The difference between the two is enormous. Large enough for me to wonder why the difference is so great.
And so, I pose these questions to you, the readership of the Spiritual Newsletter.

What is it that keeps you coming back, week after week?

Wind, you've expressed some very deep and meaningful thoughts. Our spiritual side and the introspect to examine it is often glossed over in our hectic day to day activities. Thanks for making pause and think about these.

I enjoyed the newsletter. It is good to have a place to discuss our spiritual interests and concerns. Writing is the way I work out my opinions and ideas. When I write down ideas, the stupid ones become obvious while the righteous one take on a holy glow. Well, maybe I overstate the issue, but writing forces me to examine my thoughts objectively. God deals with me in writing. Again, the newsletter was a blessing.
