About This Newsletter

I’m sure we haven’t all lost our collective minds. I’m also sure I’m not the only one who has done these things.

Letter from the editor

Hello folks! Welcome to another edition of the Comedy Newsletter! Do you realize that WDC’s 24th Birthday is almost upon us? This is an amazing feat. Just think, WDC will be celebrating its Silver Anniversary next year! Our founders, The StoryMaster & The StoryMistress have created this successful virtual home for all of us to enjoy.

You may want to keep alert of all the many things that will be going on on the site. Of course your sidebar will show a Birthday Central link when the first day starts. That link will have many surprises to be uncovered. You’ll see activities, contests and new stuff created by SMs. Can you say Merit Badges, emoticons and extra bonus points for reviewing?

However, this is just a little blurb to get you all excited for the big event! Now, the reason I’m here, for life’s little laughs.

I am a bit embarrassed to admit I have been caught in the trappings of being tied to electronic devices. I love that I can brighten the screen if I need to. I really enjoy making font larger with a flick of the finger. I also count on Google to find something on the Web for me. The trouble is … I’ve grown so accustomed to having results right at my fingertips, I have a few times admittedly, lost my virtual grasp of reality.

Have you ever found yourself reading a book or magazine and automatically spread your fingers to make the font larger? I have!

Have you also looked at the front of the book to find the brightness slide? I can’t say I have. Not that I haven’t … I just can’t say it! *Laugh*

Okay, I can see how those automatic brain to finger swipes have become so second nature to us that we can give ourselves a little wink and a nod. However … this is the one that even shocked me!

Have you ever misplaced reading or sun glasses, a stapler, a tool recently used and asked this question: Hey Google, where did I leave my stapler? Suddenly, a voice replies "They are on sale at Amazon. Would you like me to connect to the page?" *Blush*

Yup, it’s just that bad, folks!

That’s all the truth she’ll admit to for this edition of the Comedy Newsletter! *Rolleyes*

Until next time—laugh hard, laugh often!

Target honors it's online prices when you show it at the register.

Many places do honor online prices. What's up with Walmart? *Think*

Beholden

Love your solution to the router price problem! I was thinking, "How can you order online when it's your router that's gone up the chute?" Never occurred to me to use the cellphone but that's because I don't have one. I mean, someone has to remain pure...

I know! It's the magic of a cellphone. *Laugh* Good to know someone out there is remaining pure. My purity is long gone. *Rolling*

Joy

Thanks for another great NL and I can so relate to it, too.
"That's our online order incentive program."
Shouldn't that be illegal? The product alone should have a fixed cost in the same store, unless you have it delivered, specially wrapped or something like that. Why don't we have laws about this? You did great, though. Thanks for our cellphones, at least.

Thanks, Joy! It's certainly a strange way to deal with customers. Yet, they can set their incentives the way they want. It's like going to the market and at checkout they ask if you have a store card for the discounts on certain items. Usually, I can hit Price Chopper here without a card and they'll put their store number in at the register so I get the discounts. Ones that don't do it, I rarely return to. What a racket it is to get our personal information and what we buy ...etc! *Angry*

Thank you for your feedback, folks! We editors appreciate it! *Bigsmile*
