In this weeks Mystery Newsletter I'm going to pick my subject out of the headlines...can you guess which one?
In recent events a celebrity dies. Besides a movie-ography and a short bio this story should be moved off of the front pages, but in this case it is not even the beginning of the story.
Lawyers of the next of kin, former suitors and a possible husband headed to court for either custody of a corpse or her daughter. These aren’t the only court cases pending, as you might recall, this celebrity was also in a battle for a large estate settlement.
If you listen to the media, Anna Nicole Smith death is still a mystery. Was it an overdose of drugs, natural causes or a combination of both? Should a mystery writer think out of the box and proclaim that she was involved in a conspiracy? (You better!)
One of my poker playing buddies thinks that she was silenced over the millions of dollars she was due to inherit from her elderly husband. His theory involves her son who died of a drug overdose a couple of weeks after the birth of her daughter. He thinks the son was killed by her late husbands family and when she continued her suit she was silenced as well. Can this be a possible scenario into the deaf of a former Playmate or is my friend making up something that would read better in a best seller?
No matter what you thought of the life of her celebrity, her death can still be the inspiration that writes stories…
