About This Newsletter

Ever wondered how much time and effort goes into hosting a major event? I challenge each of you to do just that within the next month. Set aside some time and host a major event to raise gps for a charity or group. Below we will discuss a few of the basics for hosting such an event.

I have seen a new wave popping up where auctions are slowing and raffling off donated prizes is picking up. Here you will have 20 or so packages, and you buy tickets for each item you wish to be the winner of. This is a lot more time consuming for the host, however a lot more fun with added chances of winning for participants.

Sometimes you just want that little extra something to deliver a wonderful surprise for a special occasion. Hosting a MEGA RAFFLE or MEGA AUCTION is one way to deliver such an extreme gift. What exactly goes into hosting such an event? To start with you need an occasion, for instance, we have the site birthday quickly sneaking upon us again. From there, we want to locate some large prizes to either raffle or auction off.

If using prizes to encourage this event, it is suggested that the prizes be combined or from groups to make the payout larger. For instance, instead of each member of a group individually adding a donation or prize, it is suggested that they go in together, combining their bounty as one large treasure chest.

So you have an event, for instance the site birthday. Let us say, theoretically, that you wish to raise money for RAOK in honor of the birthday celebration. Now that the prizes are all donated and there are at least 15 large packages you are ready to begin. Whether the prizes are auctioned off, or raffled individually, advertising must first play a key in driving traffic flow through the port to view the item created to host such an event.

Once the ball is rolling, momentum quickly picks up from here. You have either bidding, or ticket purchases coming in like crazy, and it will be difficult for some to keep up with the activity. You must however, for a dull auction loses bidders. A boring raffle has no participants waiting in the wings.

A great example for such an event, would be the up and coming
