 Inspiration on Hold I'm more inspired to write during the winter months. I think it's the cold weather. I'm not a fan of cold weather so I spend many hours indoors during this part of the year. If I didn't dream up stories of imaginary journeys, I would probably go stir crazy. So the winter is filled with writing while the summer months are filled with guilt. I go to the beach and feel guilty when I return because I'm too tired to write. I go to picnics and take my journal, but I don't write because I'm too busy conversing with family and friends. I meet friends at restaurants and talk of writing, but never actually put pen to paper. Inspiration is there, it's just on hold. I worry it might tire of hearing the high-pitched operator voice in my head telling it that it's call is very important, please wait a minute. While I enjoy the summer days out of doors, I still worry at times that Inspiration will tire of holding and not come calling again. This summer I decided to take a different path. I would schedule writing into my day so I couldn't put off Inspiration! It was a brilliant plan. I formulated writing exercises for each day, then promptly ignored them. I committed to contests and didn't complete the entries. So this summer has been filled with even more guilt, but I'm having amazing times with friends and family trying to avoid my well laid plans! Don't worry Inspiration, you're only on hold for a few more weeks.  Until next time, Diane

Puditat "Diane, I loved your example of a writing prompt. However, since I live on a very quiet street, I could spend all day waiting for two people to go by. I think the results might be detrimental to my writing output! Though it would be a good way to be constructive when I'm too headachy to concentrate on writing. Make every moment count!"
