This month I am going to be very honest with you. When I was accepted as Editor for the Action/Adventure Newsletter, I was very excited. I have a subscription to just about every Writing.Com Newsletter there is and read them, too. I felt very honoured to be accepted and to write for a Newsletter that has such wonderful Editors.
There was only one, tiny, problem, which I was certain I could overcome… I’ve never written an Action/Adventure piece and I don’t think I’ve read any Action/Adventure books, not since I was a young lass (which is long ago, trust me).
Sure, many of the books I read have Action and Adventure aspects to them. The DragonLance novels, for example. Terry Pratchett novels. My Dean Koontz books, my Anne Rice books, my Stephen King books… but their main genres, I think, are Fantasy and Horror, or Thriller, perhaps.
And sure, I love watching Action/Adventure movies. But how to give advice to people who probably know a lot more about the genre than I do?
The answer, I think, is in research and practice. So this month I ask you, the readers of this Newsletter, what you would like to read about in my Editorials. Is there a particular topic you would like me to look into? If you let me know, I will do research on it.
It is time I start learning more about this wonderful genre and hopefully start writing Action/Adventure pieces as well.
And if you do give me some feedback and topics for my Editorial, perhaps you can recommend me some books, too? I would be very grateful  .

shadowdawn - Another great 'animal' book is Birth of the Firebringer by Meredith Ann Pierce, the first book of the Firebringer Trilogy. It's about a group of unicorns. And it's not a fluffy bunny, sugary sweet unicorn story. It's about as 'fluffy bunny' as Watership Down. These unicorns train to fight and are at war with gryphons and wyverns. They also have a well developed society, with beliefs and history. I highly recommend it.

Vivian  - Hi, Kit. Another interesting newsletter. Yes, animals can create great action/adventure stories. I guess I just never thought of Louie the Duck as an action/adventure hero before. Thanks for highlighting "Louie the Lonely Little Duck."

karabu - Hi. I loved the 'Cats Happen' theme today. I'm a veterinary technician, so most of my cats are other people's throw aways. Each has come to me with their own unique adventure story attached. Humm... maybe I should write it down for them. Thanks for the inspiration, and the entertaining newsletter!
