A girl that wishes that she could be with a guy but her wishes don't come true.
I look in the mirror and to my dismay
I look the same as yesterday.
I wish that I could change for you,
But it is something hard to do.
'Voila!Not how I used to be!'
Seems magic doesn't work on me.

I saw you today and with a tear
I realized that still me--you fear;
You cannot bear to see my eye
But ours just cannot say goodbye;
They twinkle for me; I wish it were true
But magic doesn't work on you.

I'll see you tomorrow and this I will say
Because I couldn't yesterday:
I love you. Don't you know it's true?
To not love you--I cannot do.
I wish that magic we could trust,
But magic doesn't work on us.
