The devil and another, talking to a man of life and death
So the other day friend Death came to say hi
I asked him why did he come here, did he come to steal my soul?
Come to devour me whole? And in his blackness consume me in his hunger?
He told me he just came to say hi and see what was growing
He told me they go in hand you know, this whole growing and dying
In the chariot was Satan and he was crying
Saying, "I never have any fun, Death, why can't I use the gun?"
Death shook his head, "Would you tempt my son?"
Death looked back and smiled at me
"Your time is to come, but don't worry we all die so don't run"
In his hand, a golden sun, that lit up the day and stole the dark
What was this that I saw?
That Death wore not robes of black, but of white
Had he stolen the light?
Satan cried like a child, "Why are you white and black, and I'm red?"
Death laughed as he grabbed the chariot reigns
He looked at me and said, "The worst of children of yet
He slept outside one day, and got sunburned all the way"
And as the two rode off, I stood scratching my head, wondering of my luck
As I whispered to myself, "What the fuck?"
