Straining against this band

I am drowning in your problems
And cannot cope with my own
You expect me to solve

I cannot express my discomfort
In knowing what I know
I am looking for an outlet
Somewhere to grow

I am stuck inside a whirlpool
Of pain and negativity
When all I have ever wanted
Is pleasure and security

I used to see so clearly
The path I am to take
Now the path is blocked
And it is you I have to forsake
