In this house people change...or disappear. Which will you be?
[Introduction]
I am looking for characters to join my story. This is a survival story, and I am the mastermind that captured all of you. If you want to join this campfire send me a brief character discription including personality, looks, and a breif history.Keep in mind while participating, only you can control your character so don't try to use others or you will be killed and ejected from the story. However, if you are killed by me for the story you will be able to help me with my decisions on who dies and who lives. Please join asap. That said, let the games begin!
You will now write a short description of your desired character.
Shanna - early 20's long blonde braided haired , cat's eyes that seem to pull people into their depth (blue/green/grey),meduim build orindary looking female. Quiet, intutive, stubborn, indepent, witty, wears wire framed glasses, loves to read and animals are her favorite thing in the world.

Works in a coffee / bookstore on the out skirts of town.

Lives in a tiny apartment with her cat and dog and huge bay windows on the second floor.
Shanna starts in a dark room, hands and feet bound by chains. As the lights come on she realizes she is on a conveyor belt. The belt is moving towards a huge incinerator of sorts. To get off of this contraption she needs to pull an escape by getting out of her chains by unlocking the locks with a key hidden in her body (hint: somewhere her occupation doesn't require much of and goes with her personality). There are no need for knifes becuase it is just inside. If you find the key you will escape with you life. If not...things will be getting really hot in there.
Slowly awakening to bright lights and the sound of machinery she tries to move finding herself bound. How she got here she wasn't excatly sure but there must be a way out.

She tries moveing her hands a bit as she begins to look around tring to find a way off this thing. A nasty taste in her mouth almost metalalic as she tries to get the key into her bound hands and free herself.

She accidently drops the key luckly it lands upon the conveyer belt in reach of her hands. Quickly reaching for it and relaseing her hands she sits up and undoes her feet to carefully step off the belt and onto the floor. Still uncertain of where or how she got here.
Laura - 28 years old, but looks younger. She has long, burgundy hair, green eyes, fair skin and is short and a little chubby, but very pretty. She's quiet until she gets to know people. She has a great sense of adventure and loves danger.
Laura starts in a tall room, unbound hands but hanging by her feet. On the wall is writing, "You have 10 minutes to find and get up on the platform from the time you wake. The rope holding your feet will drop, whether or not you are on the platform.Don't look down." The writing is in a flouresent paint and the room has an eeire purple glow, the glow of blacklighting. On the bottom of the room, about fourty feet below her, in big letters are, "The ledge is closer than you think. Use your head."
Laura fights off the urge to panic. Looking up she sees the platform directly above her. She tries desperately to think. She feels the blood rushing to her head and tries to ignore it.

"Think, think," she admonishes herself. "There has to be a way."

Doing a kind of sit up, she stretches her arms up and tries to grab hold of the platform. She can feel it on her fingertips, but can't quite get a hold on it.

"Use your head. What does that mean?" she thinks out loud.

She starts swinging herself back and forth, hoping to give herself some leverage. In the process, she bumps her head on the platform.

"Ow!" Wait, what's going on? The platform is suddenly eye level now. She reaches up, grabs it, and pulls herself onto it just in time.

Mariah- 18. She has short brown hair with red highlights, brown eyes, 5"3 and weighs 130 lbs. She's sort of chubby, yet her frame is petite. She is a poet, very naive, and she is a follower rather than a leader. Her strengths are in the arts.
Slowly she looks around the dimly lit room looking for a way out. Afraid to touch anything in case it triggers another trap. The only sound she hears is machinery.
Laura sits on the platform, panting from the exertion of pulling herself up. Her head aches like hell.

Oh! The rope! She remembers, suddenly.

She quickly unties her feet, just in time, as the rope is pulled away. She lies down on the platform and closes her eyes.
It is midnight and Mariah waiting for her boyfriend to return from the bathroom. He's been in there for quite some time now, and she is getting worried.

"Greg?" She calls out. No answer. There is a tapping on the window, like a pendulum beating in rhythm. She is too afraid to look.
"Greg, come to bed!" Silence, "Greg this isn't funny! At least say something." She hurries to the door. The doorknob slowly turns and.....
then she hears a loud crash following a sickening thud. Her beloved Greg had been hung, and his body beating against the large window had eventually broken. However it was not himself that took his life.

Greg wakes up with a horrible headache. "What the?" He's in his bathroom. Underneath him is a stool attached to a rope, and around his neck is a noose.
"You took longer then I thought to wake my child. Unfortunately for you...the stool will be removed in 10...9...8...7...6-" Said a raspy voice from what sounded like a walkie-talkie.
"What did I ever do to you?" Greg screams trying to free himself. However, his arms and legs are bound with barbed wire and when he moves them the wire starts cutting into his skin.
"Never play with death and expect to come out unscathed. And I wouldn't move around too much if I were you. And incase you're tempted to scream there's a gun pointed down directly at your head with a not very sensitive sound senor. I programed it so it would only go off when loud enough to be heard outside of the room. Hopefully your girlfriend will realize your problem before you die." He finished with a raspy laugh. Then with a quick mechanical sound and scraping of wood against tile the stool was gone.
Greg started making gurgling noises trying to get some air. His world started dimming and the thudding eventually made him pass out realizing he was going to die.
The Housemaster is back in action!
Laura looks around in confusion. "Hello? Anyone here?" No answer. "How do I get down?"

She sits and waits, frightened out of her mind.

Mariah wakes up, she is sweating profuselly. She turns to look at Greg sitting laying next to her asleep. Suddenly she feels the need to leave the house. Someone is there, somebody evil. She tries to wake Greg up, but he is cold and motionless. She feels his heart and pulse, blank. She turns a lamp on, and studies the limp body. His blue eyes were left open, bloodshot in a struggling glass-like stare. A rope burn around his neck left a gash, and his neck was broken.
She runs out of the room. Somebody is defineatley here.......
"Shanna. Congratulations! You are still alive. You've passed your first test." A sound of gears is heard in the background with a sudden unlatching of the door in the incerator room. "You may move on to the next room and meet the other survivors." The door slowly swings open to another room. It has four different doors from which the other "competitors" will come out of.

"Laura. I can see you managed to figure out my obvious clue. The next puzzle won't be as simple, remember two heads are better then one." The door behind her unlatches and swings open to the room with on door on each wall in the square room. She sees one door open with a woman standing looking at her with a puzzled face.

"Mariah. I decided to let you off easy and not threaten you life...this time. I apologize for the loss of your friend, however you weren't sober enough to realize your beloved had been killed because of your lack of action. You managed not to fire the gun on the table next to the couch in what you think is your house, so you passed your test. Feel free to move on to the next room and be one step closer to salvation." With a clicking the door in the room that she thought was the front door of her house led out into a square room painted white with four doors where the others were waiting.
Startled by the sudden male voice heard after being in the dimmely lit room for what seemed like forever. She looks around the room tring to figure out where the voice was comming from and if it is safe to pass through the door or not.

Her mind races wildly wondered what the stranger means by other surviors and what house of horrors she may have entered into.

Decideing that the other room has to be better then this one she steps cautiously over the threashold and awaits the others. Still careful not to really touch anything unless another trap may be set off. She looks around the room while waiting.
Laura stared nervously at the door that had appeared in front of her. Should she open it? She was frightened, but the thought of meeting other people appealed to her. She was tired of facing this nightmare alone. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and stepped through it.

There was another woman in the room. She looked as nervous and confused as Laura felt. She studied the woman, thoughtfully, not sure if she should say anything.
Two girls stood in the other room, both pale as death. Mariah steps forward, not knowing whether it was the wisest decision. But her boyfriend just died from her not taking action right? So she is not going to just sit around in this crazy hell whole. She will fight death. Unfortunately, so are the others in the room.

The women exchanged names and told their horrific stories. They decided that sticking together may be the best thing to do. So Mariah, Laura, and Shanna make a packed to look out for each other.

Suddenly the lights turn out and Mariah hears terrible screams. One brite light shines in her face. The others are gone. She is scared but she will survive. She won't let the evil take her over.
The three women have been seperated becuase they weren't standing close enough. As the lights shut off walls slid into the center of the room creating four new rooms. Mariah ended up in her own room and Laura and Shanna were standing in the same section of the room and weren't seperated from each other. The two rooms they are in are right next to each other and they need to find a way to get to the empty rooms containing the exit doors.
"For this challanging puzzle you will notice you have no escape. There are no windows or doors in these new rooms you are standing in. Unfortunately Mariah, you need two people in your room to fully escape. If Shanna and Laura feel gracious enough they could take more time and try to figure out how to get you out as well. One thing, do mind your feet. The groud beneath you has many letters on the ground with a step to reset the combination, and an enter button to submit. There's a word that you must spell in order to remove the wall seperating you from this room and the next. I have been very patient with you and will give you 15 minutes before the attempts will be completely useless, and you only have 5 tries before the wall will be locked in place forever. However, I have allowed a PA system in these rooms so you can discuss with each other what you think it is. Here's the clues, 'It can be broken. It beats. It is the essence of life. You will need one of these to help Mariah.' It's elementary, but I don't want to make things impossible for you. Remember, don't press the diamond submit key until your ready. And if you want to clear the stones you stepped on, which will light up when in use, press the square key. Good luck."
Shanna both scaried and delighted to no longer be alone looks at the new people around her. Then suddenly as she begins to think things were going to get better she finds herself in a new horror.

But at least this time she isn't alone. And at least they are not completely cut off from one another.

She runs the clues over and over in her head not excatly sure she is right. She suggests that a heart can be broken and it beats it is also essential for life. But then again so does a brain and water she looks at lauren and then at the wall seperateing them all. What about a heart? she asks the others but unable to think of any other such words at the moment.
