POEM WRITTEN ABOUT BEING AN AMERICAN SOLDIER
Hand and hand, woman and man, they are sent to fight in a foreign land.

With knowledge and purpose and American pride, facing an enemy that is sure not to hide.

Trying to instill a better life for those who cannot defend their own right.

Woman and children of a different culture now trust the American soldier.

You are a reflection of what should be, courageous and stoic, a monument for all to see.

Your life is sometimes given in trade defending the nation in the ultimate parade.

The worth of your serious intention is to serve, protect, and defend.

Without you it would be our end.
