After thoughts of love lost
In the back of my mind
What I'm seeing I think
Is what I don't want to know
And what I'm saying I think
Is what you don't want to hear
Is that good enough for you
Was it good enough for me
Was good, good enough

I've tied it all together
All we've ever said and done
All this time apart and now
To be counted with the rest
An emptiness, a loneliness
Unrelenting, and unfading
What happened so fast
All wrong, so long

I remember walking
In twilight nights
Leaves falling beside you
All I was was watching you
All I saw was everything
Everything I'd ever need
And everything I'd ever be
Was all for you

With every ending compromise
No wars or fighting in your eyes
Strange pathetic oddities
My god, we were so perfect
All those times we'd lay awake
Staring talking hours by
Your hand be mine, I'll take it all
And in one night, it's gone
