A poem about a friend of mine, the nature of his being.
A pithy saying
Arrogant and misleading
Is all I need to fly with utter abandon

The negative of a film strip
That I view when my morality is questioned
Razes and rebuilds the already leaning tower

Two fearful eyes
One body, jettisoned in every respect
Three unwanted words
Five points on Satan's star
Glistening at the climax of my descent

Badinage, banter, light and careless
Whets the blade
Incinerates the hollow pity

Procyon, Antares, Rigel, Sirius
Brighter than any naméd sun
Dimmed, leering into tomorrow's pit

Jubilant, joyous
Effervescent, elegiacal
Foiling the solemnity
Fermenting always, an intoxicating draft

It is irrevocable, immortal
A testimony; an elegy
The music has only began
Its promising strains
