55 Word Story, Example 1

I didn’t feel different. I thought everything was supposed to change, afterward. Catching sight of myself in the mirror, I stared. The features were unchanged, but there was something about my eyes. The eyes spoke volumes of pain, loss, and age. My appearance was still the youthful, vivacious girl, but the eyes gave me away.
