A Dad-to-be gets his first lesson in being a "hands on" father.
DADDY' FIRST LESSON.

In this modern day and age of ours
There are things to make life easy,
Like cordless phones with their own ring tones,
Air-cons to make rooms breezy.

Old fashioned ways were good but hard
To wash the clothes and to dry
Was a full day's work, but now it's just
A button to press - and stand by!

My dear son Boom and Shirl, his wife
Are expecting a babe quite soon.
They believe it was good enough for me,
The old ways will suit them too.

They've opted not to throw away
The nappies (or diapers) when used.
No disposable products for these young folk,
Proper cloth ones they did choose.

The problem that now faces us
Is to teach Boom how to fold
A nappy, so it stays on Bub,
Like I did, in days of old.

A laugh a minute we had today
(At Boom's expense, I'm afraid)
To see him dress a dolly up
What a funny sight he made!

This fold goes here, and this one there,
He tried to be so neat.
But everytime he held up Dolly,
The nappy fell to his feet!

Of course it is much easier
When the nappy is dry and new,
We are yet to see how he will cope
When the cloth is wet and - PHEW!

He has a few more months to go
To practise and get it right.
By the time their baby child is born
The nappy will stay on tight!

Next lesson, Boom --- Bath time!!
