Uses of pole. Street lamps, traffic lights, phone masts, signposts and CCTV.
THE POLE TURNS MOLE

A pole like me boasts many a guise
Both dark and overt I tell no lies
A lamp to shine and guide your sight
When sinks the sun and looms the night
Or signs to warn or lead your way
You'll find in all this pole holds sway
I am the mast that fires your phones
The pulse that powers those quirky old tones
On me stands lights that flash to show
When streams of traffic should halt or go
But what think you of my lidless eye
Primed now to focus, to snap and spy?
I've filmed your routes; the die is cast
For trapped are you, I know your past
You may be sure your door they'll crack
And to your woe your thoughts they'll wrack
