These metaphors are a good sidetrack for me from writing poems.
My heart is a ship lost in the boundaries of the Pacific ocean. The ship was built for war, and surviving with many casualties. Its once great deck, is now tainted with gunpowder and the blood of fallen men. It's deck is filled with people, their faces blank from despair some that are injured and fallen, being barely alive and wishing death. It's crew hustles to repair the ship and restore the greatness it once had, but their attempts were futile. This ship is beyond repair, lost and stranded in the dark blue ocean with little hope of returning safely to shore...

My heart is the sky. Sometime in the past, the sky was beautiful. Clouds were pure cotton that seemed to swim in the clear blue sky and the birds would sing their melody. Now that sky is nothing but a smog-tainted horizon stretching on for miles. Birds would no longer sing because the toxic air would choke them. The sky would be black as night, even in the day. The air is thick to breathe as people walk by. These people wonder, how the perfect, clear sky turned into their present pollution covered mess. The truth that they failed to realize, was that their actions, took away something that they always took for granted.

Love is the sun. It can create life or it can destroy it. It can bring joy or pain. But whatever happens, no matter how much you try and hide from it, you can't escape it forever.
