NO TEARS LEFT

Heartbreak was my middle name
for more years then I can remember.
I have cried over the endless pain
from January right through December.

Giving up on hope and not believing
that my life could be good, after all,
was taking me down a pathway to hell
and I was quite prepared for the fall.

It took God to give me a wake-up call
and lift me up on my own unsteady feet,
to give me strength to face life with hope
and not to accept the ultimate defeat.

It took family and friends who cared
when life was leaving me so bereft
to realize that it was time to smile
and now I find, I have no tears left.

So dry your eyes and wear a smile
when the world starts to get you down.
Watch for the rainbows after the rain
and don't give in to that old frown.

Hold close your family and your friends
and let them know how dear they are.
Miracles happen everyday, you'll see
that your faith and love will take you far.
