telltale lies
                                                Union Jack
                         
done with this place
i sought to erase
the last ghostly trace
of her beautiful face

i left her at dawn
tiptoed 'cross the lawn
and so i was gone
for the course that I'd drawn


beggars and thieves
would tug at my sleeves
while I'm on my knees
for the things she believes
