a girl going through a summer flign parts with him in the rain
standing here in the rain
he takes my hand
and I know that time's slipping away like sand
he looks me in the eye
we're so close I can hear him sigh
whispering and wishing we could stand here forever
in the puddles, in the rain
no tomorrow
and no more sorrow
he looks at me once more
and turns around and walks away
leaving me here asking for not another day
waking up in the morning
the sun is out and I see him leaving
leaving doubt in my heart
and even though he tore me apart
there's always next year
plus there's nothing like the cleansing rain
of a summer fling
