A description of me if I was a car with as many years and miles on it as there are on me!
      My Life As a Car

That "new car smell" faded long ago,
ain't nothing but a fond memory.
Tried to replace it with the aroma
of that cute little cardboard pine tree.

My old odometer is spinnin' in a blur,
I try to slow down but it goes faster.
I'm losin' my grip on the steering wheel,
hope I ain't headin' for some disaster!

My carpet is threadbare, uphostery is torn,
my headlights ain't so bright anymore.
The paint is peelin' where it once was shiny,
and there's a rattle in every door.

My timing belt slips more each day,
my crankshaft's missing a couple of cogs.
Got rust and dents in all my fenders,
and my transmission's gone to the dogs.

Warning lights are flashin' like neon signs,
my tie-rods are doin' lots of creakin'.
The catalytic converter ain't doin' it's job,
and,..uh oh,..hope that's just my radiator leakin'!

My oil pressure  is way, way too high,
my MPG seems to be always gettin' lower.
I once thought of speed limits as a challenge,
but my MPH's, of late, are much slower.

Spare parts are scarce for my model and year,
that's something I must face as a fact.
So, it's not easy to repair a malfunction,
in my audio system eight-track.

Sure kinda' sad when things get this bad,
I hope they don't sell me for scrap.
I'll just keep crankin', long as I can,
til the day God says, "that's a wrap"!
