The pain of a woman who deeply loved a good, but shallow man.
Sorry I'm not perfect
I'm not everything you need
Sorry I'm not good enough
for you to be with me.
Sorry I'm not skinny
not quiet, pretty, proud.
Sorry that I'm always depressed
or always so damn loud.
Sorry that I feel for you,
sorry that I care
sorry that it isn’t returned
sorry that I'm here.
Sorry that I met you
when things were going well
sorry I'm not what you want
I'm sorry your hopes fell.
I'm sorry I'm not what you need
sorry to be me
sorry that you can’t feel the same
sorry now that my heart bleeds.
Sorry that I'm not a blonde
with blue eyes in size 10.
Sorry that that seems to be
what's needed to be your friend.

So I'm sorry that I met you
sorry I don’t belong
sorry that I feel like this
I'm sorry I'm all wrong.
