Why don't you dream?
I look into your eyes
and I see a person whose dreams they’ve let go of
given up on

dead eyes
oh why didn’t you stay a dreamer?
you let your soaring soul plummet
now a rock in the deepest depths of yourself
dragging...

you don’t need more sleep
you aren’t sick
you’re not tired because of over work
you carry the weight of dead dreams and could have beens with you!
and always will

lag behind
loose that smile
wake up with no reason to
you’ve stopped dreaming

you’ll age faster
die sooner
although you are already gone
not even a spark to warm your heart

I pray for you
find inspiration!
look into the eyes of a child
finally see the beauty of God’s creations!

Don’t be the coward
who saw his dreams high above himself and said
“I’m afraid of heights”
who saw broken glass on the ground and bent down
because going down was so much easier than up to the gems
going with gravity rather than defying it!
who said
“I can be happy with less”

And if you are
if you have those dead eyes
that weighted soul
those pitiful glass imitations of dreams
I’ll dream for you, and maybe my dreams will soar
soar so high that they find the remnants of what is left of your old dreams
and bring them back down to you so that you can do what we all need to do
