A story of the worst day of my life, and yet my Father in Heaven never let go of my hand.
You’re gonna be OK…
If it were serious they would say,
It hurts now, but soon we’ll be back home
where life will go on as it’s always done.

Hours pass..
The sun rises to a new day;  new year,
In just a few short minutes
“My love” would be the last words from you I’d ever hear…

What’s happening???
Pain and confusion…
Doctors, nurses, Code Blue!
You say you can’t breathe, Oh God please let this not be true!

What more can I do now but pray…
I cry out, “I love you”... It’d be your last day.
My heart’s  in a panic.  I’m shaking with fear now too
How could I know it’d be a “New Year” without you?…

Time;  now it begins to stand still,
As shock sets in, “Lord it’s in your hands to fulfill”…
We gather to pray and stand in the gap,
You put up a fierce fight, now released from a painful trap…

Death… Oh where is your sting?
It’s certainly not in this precious soul’s Heavenly rising,
It’s found in the ache of the hearts’ of those left behind,
Not ready to let go of the dear one whose flesh has now died.

The days ahead are filled with sorrow, pain, regret, and fear.
“How could this happen, how did I find myself here?”
I covet my sleep where there’s some escape from the pain
But with each day, waking to misery as I remember again and again!

Time marches on, but the memories don’t fade,
It just becomes gradually easier to bear the pain.
Maybe even with an occasional smile or laugh
That begins to creep back into my spirit at last.

One thing I know is that you’re better off than me;
basking in the perfection of the Father’s glory!
As saint’s, we rest assured; our greatest comfort is this,
An imminent reunion in Heaven with loved ones so desperately missed.

"B, I'm so sorry for how you suffered that horrible night and day. I'll always miss you here, but I am grateful to know that I will see you again in Heaven, where we'll spend eternity, along with the saints and angels, in the presence of our Lord and Savior -->*Jesus Christ*. Love you,C"
