past the surface

Peel back my skin,
look at my insides.
Am i still ugly?
Is my beauty still hidden?
How can you not see?
It's easy to ignore,
the things that I do,
in favor of my face.
I would do anything,
for you to see,
all that I can be.
But you won't look,
past the surface.
