Where has the innocence and the the tension free days gone??
Those Innocent Days

Filled with tension and worry,

almost overcome by anxiety.

Not a moment to rest

every step is a test.

All those days seem to have vanished

when I used to sit and relish

the fact that I had nothing to do

that day and the next day too!

Childhood seems so innocent now.

Sometimes I really wonder how

I could have been such a fool

as to think life's just about passing school

The sight of the bakery always made me hungry

The library always filled me with yearning.

Rock music was my particular favorite.

Childhood really is innocent, I have to admit!

Making sandcastles at the beach,

sticking to a book like a leech

those were the things I used to do

whenever I used to feel I had nothing else to do.

Childhood really was such a bliss

The memories really fill me with peace.

Oh, where have all those days gone?

when I just used to sit and play in the lawn.

But enough of this, I've to come back to reality.

Sighing, I pick up my pen and start working.
