Sylia discovers her crush likes her.But theres something more to the boy something strange
Sylia walked into the gym, scuffing her feet on the tiled floor. The grey walls around her reflected her mood. The other kids were already socializing in corners. ‘I would be too. But Ally isn’t here today.’ She thought with a sad sigh. “Hey! Sylia!” Isaac’s voice turned her head abruptly.
There he was. Isaac Storm. One of the hottest guys in school. And he was actually talking to her? He jogged up and smiled at her. “Hey. How are you?”
Sylia blinked. “Um. Good. You?” She replied dazed.
He shrugged. “Great actually. You gonna get your gym clothes on? Or are you ditching today?” He asked indicating his white shirt and black shorts.
Sylia’s eyes widened. “I only ditched once!”
         He nodded. “I know.”
“How do you know?” She asked still awed by the fact that he knew.
“Well it’s not that hard to miss one of the prettiest girls in the 10th grade ‘sneaking’ off the track.” He shrugged again, and beamed a full white-toothed smile at her.
Sylia stared at him in utter disbelief. A strand of her midnight black hair strayed onto her nose. Isaac reached towards it, and gently moved it off. “You okay, Syl?”
She shook her head, as if to clear it, and nodded.
“You act like I said something surprising.” He looked down at her.
She looked down, allowing her hair to form a thick curtain between them as it hid her face. “You think I’m pretty?” She whispered.
Isaac laughed. “Of course I do. Who doesn’t?”
Sylia frowned. ‘A lot of people. Like all those mean football players, and those stupid jerks who call themselves popular.’ She thought scornfully. “You don’t know the half of it.” She muttered.
“Actually I do. And that’s whats been bugging me for the past couple of weeks.” He reached through her hair and lifted her chin, causing her hair to cascade from her face. “I don’t like the way they treat you. You’re a talented girl. And I would really like for you to go to a movie with me.”
Her eyes lit up almost instantly. ‘He wants to go on a date with me!!!’ She mentally exclaimed. ‘Me of all the girls in the school!’ “Really?” She asked still unable to contain her joy.
He laughed. It was a pleasing sound. “Of course. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said it. So, when should I pick you up?” His black eyes gleamed at her.
         Her face went blank. “Tonight?”
         “Preferably.” He nodded.
“Um. Uh. Anytime I guess.” She shrugged.
He gave her a mildly confused look. “Won’t your parents mind?”
She shook her head. “My parents are on a business trip Kevin is the only one home, and he wont mind.” She said thinking about her dog.
Isaac cocked his head inquisitively. “Is Kevin your brother?”
She laughed. “No! He’s my dog.”
“Aw. I see. Well then, why don’t you just ride with me?” He smiled.
Warning bells instantly went off in her head, but she ignored them. “Okay. You drive?” She smiled up at him.
He nodded. “I do. I think you’ll like my car. That is, if you like sports cars.”
She nodded. He frowned slightly. “Class is about to begin. You better go get dressed. I’ll see you after school."
With that said he walked over to where the boys had all gathered. Sylia stood there, unable to fully understand. ‘He likes me. He really likes me!’ She thought amazed.
                                                                                                      ö  ö  ö
The day passed easily. She didn’t see him at all after their meeting in gym. She often wondered what movie they would be seeing. And especially if he would kiss her. Just the idea sent a tremor of shivers down her spine.
She headed out the double doors of the school and into the large parking lot. Where would his car be? And what does it look like? She sighed heavily and shook her head. She’d just have to stay put until he found her.
She sat down on one of the large blue benches that lined the front of the school. Her books were in her locker, so she didn’t have to worry about leaving them in his car. Plus it took a lot of weight off her shoulders, literally.
She watched as tons of kids drove off in their cars. ‘If only I had a car. Or even a permit.’ She thought with a sad sigh. She wished her parents would trust her more. She wished they would stay home more. They were always leaving to far off places. They never had time to talk to their only child.
“You coming or what?” Isaac’s voice surprised her.
She looked up at him. He was now dressed in a plain black shirt and blue jeans. He was watching her intently. “Um, yeah. I didn’t know where you would be.” She said with an apologetic smile.
