Science fiction fantasy
The dawning of the binary stars was awe inspiring, As we cruised over this alien planet we could almost hear the wakening of these alien flora and fauna. The objective is to explore the native spieces to determime which is the most intelligent and dominant species on this planet. What a wierd bunch of beings i thought as the herd of whammo's rolled by! They were called whammo's because they moved across the frozen tundra like super balls bouncing and rolling in this thin atmosphere. All the animals moved very fast because of the size of the planet and low atmosphere. But things change very quickly around here because of the speed of our binary suns. The only thing this planet had going for it was its size and because it had the one thing we enjoyed, fresh water.
Nothing on this planet reminded us of earth, the plants kinda resembled tumble weeds, there were many different kinds some poisoness and some that were carniverous but most were the large edible soygoes. Most animals ate the soygo, but some ate anything and everything including us if they had the chance. We began to notice that the soygo would occasionally change direction, not because of the winds that always seemed to blow but to avoid being eaten. This was our first indication that they may have brains.
Our camp was large spacious clear domes powered by ample solar energy. Our numbers were now in the thousands and growing daily. It was always nice to meet the newbees as they arrived, to hear thier tales of home and to hear about their voyage here. But best of all to recieve the mail, in it was all the things we missed from home, it was like Christmas for us.
