"...from ashes I will rise"
When I was a child I picked up a spade
All of my life I carried it around
A deep pit of self-hate I slowly made
And though I dug the hole, you pushed me down
Far beneath the surface I lay in hell
A fleshless corpse, dead, decayed, and rotten
No soul, no heart, no love, an empty shell
Hopeless and pitifully forgotten
Whilst in my tomb you burned down my whole world
Destroyed what remained and left me to die
But from the flames new life in me unfurled
Now I have wings and I can freely fly
Like a phoenix, from ashes I will rise
To soar above in perfect cloudless skies
