A poem about waiting for love.
I’ll be around for a while yet
In case you want to worry and fret
That all she does is follow her heart,
While yours is only falling apart.

I’ll stick right here just a little more
So you can share what’s in your store
Of good times that you thought would last,
But now recall as distant past.

I’ll soon be gone and you’ll be alone
So think about what you have known
Of her and her ways of making you work,
And choose to be free of confusion and hurt.

I’ll tell you one thing before I go,
Don’t turn away and pretend you don’t know
That I’ve loved you as time has passed
And will stay forever if you would just ask.

I’ll not be waiting here for you
When you decide on what you should do
Because all you do is follow your heart,
While mine is only falling apart.
