The seeker asks questions about despair and hope, mortality and eternity.
The seeker

On the run
Trying to find myself again
Hidden I remain
Where did I go?
A shadow that eludes
While darkness protrudes
A pit of despair
only the seekers know

Set me free
from the self-destruction
of introspection
and reflection
In a pool of muddied water
She drowns herself
Trying to find
youth’s happy perfection
The hope of years gone
The angels ceased to sing
Creation grew silent
Her song died
Her tears flowed into a glacier
Ice slowly moving
over rock and brush
down the mountainside

Time knows no enemies
But makes no friends
With neutral cruelty
It deals its callous blow
Time constantly demands
Mortals daily measure
But turns its face to the wind
When the fires burn low

When the dying breath
Pauses on human lips
Time swiftly demands its due
While the grieving weep
Youth dances in the sun
Convinced time is a friend
But time is a traitor
And calls the soul to sleep

I must find now my faith
I must reach a conclusion
To an eternal question
That steeps within
Who is this Creator
That loves his art
That manufactured death
As punishment for sin

When the body dies
angels lie in wait
When the soul dies
Will it reach Heaven’s gate?
Who can rescue one
From the death of hope
Who will rescue them
From the hellish fate?
