A poem about the true monster within
When I walked down the dark road,
I found "It".
"It" overtakes my soul,
and poisons my heart.

I try to kill "It",
but "It" laughs at
my failed attempts,
because I let it.

No matter what I do,
"It" never leaves.
Turning everything dark
within me.

As a smile flashes by
I'll smile back but
"It" will burn the smile
and watch me suffer.

"It" doesn't like to extinguished,
"It" roars and grows,
turning what was something good,
into a monster

Which I have to cage,
but "It" unlocks the door
making the monster loose control,
hungry for more.

That dark road,
is called Life, and "It"
makes the journey longer,
leaving my monster impatient.

Everything I do,
"It" will follow and so
does my monster,
that will always want more.

No one has seen the full unleashed monster,
because "It" waits for the perfect moment,
to unlock the door, of my monster
and watch as everything crumbles.

"It" will never quit or die.
The cycle never ends.
"It" loves me and my monster,
so it will never leave.

"It" is my hatred I feel.
