For just a moment I entertained a thought.
Wished Away

Made a wish while dancing in the rain
closed my eyes just to see
my reflection, through the darkness, staring back at me

But a reflection it told it was not
for what was said, I listened hard
in revelation my future marred

A woman of strength, beauty, of confidence
something I wished to be
Successful, independent, a "super" for the world to see

But in my wish, for a moment's bliss
lay my future all amiss
I wished away my past full of pains
all during a moment, during a dance in the rain

The moments kept were free of all strife
it changed my future
living without substance the most lonely life

Unwishing that future laying ahead
closed my eyes just to see
the reflection had faded away from me

Smiling at my painful past
to live it again, I would not ask
Wisdom, gratitude, true bliss I did gain
through solitary reflection, during a dance in the rain
