it is what it was
SSH, Im sneaking. sneaking past the door. barefeet tiptoe, heart pounding through the floor.
Hand stretched out, paving my way. silence surrounding from every which way.
Terrified, but hungry more, not even blinking as I pass each door.
I hear them stirring, in their sleep. I can hear the breath I dare to breath.
Creak! I freeze. a statue on the stair. my foot half lifted, resting on air.
No one comes out, I continue descending. walked this hall a thousand times, was it Always never ending?
Im nearly there, one door in my way. nothing will stop me, I have planned all day.
My hunger is screaming, louder than my head, go and eat your fill, then run to bed.
My hand turns the doorknob, it screeches through the house. just a few more steps, then scurry like a mouse.
I walk in the kitchen run to the fridge. I grab what I can dispose of quick, but hold what I can lift.
Back to my room now! door left open. running silently up the stairs, on the landing, reach the door, shes there.
She grabs me, I drop the food, raise my hand above my head. shes screaming now, I Close my eyes, she throws my on my bed.
I block out 10 miutes or so, the memory aches. my door is locked once again. blackness in its place.
I tossed until the light rose, trying to get comfy. and though my efforts got me bruised and bloody. I still went to bed hungry.
