TWO ACROSTIC POEMS |
OH, it gets harder to please the human race every time I decide to give them a New Year An oath I swore to Mother Nature and Father Tine that I will do the very best of my ability The young children wish that this year they didn't have to go back to school to avoid the bully Homeless people look at me as if by coming every year I can give them the life they wish for Others make resolutions that they never plan on keeping and somehow that is my problem as well From the first of my coming till the end I will be busy trying to keep my oath to everyone and the world New beginnings are supposed to give you a chance to change situations in your life, that is my fault? Every year I look forward to the celebrations people throw to usher me in but then life goes on as the Weather plays havoc on cities and towns, it rains, it snows, tornados are on the rampage, all year Yeah, I am a New Year and I enjoy arriving when I am supposed too, but these things would happen Even if there were no NEW YEAR and besides, I am only a baby who has the job of appearing anyway A very weird world we would have if the years didn't change, we would be stuck doing the same. Repeated things over and over without getting A New Year to change and grow and be blessed. The second entry below. The ring on my right hand says I made a promise to love you forever Heart and soul, I will keep that promise no matter what happens to us Every now and then we both may stumble and if we don't fall it will be a Promise that will carry us through this chaotic unfeeling world of turmoil Remember that side by side we shall get through the darkest moments Only you and I, alone can depend on each other, never forget that the Most important thing we can do is love and cherish each other and know I give my heart to you, but please don't break it or cause it not to trust you Saying our wedding vows is where the promise begins and the place it's Everlasting feeling will carry us to a never-ending sleep, only then it ends. |
