Sindy's Summer Adventure .

Summer had officially begun. So Sindy had heard on the radio, and the weather was hot and sticky. The sky had opened and poured all night. The humid air was wet. Sindy had chosen to go on a small camping holiday, get away from the noise and crowds of the city. She packed her tow caravan with a few essentials. Sindy couldnt wait to get out of the hot city and into the cool and quiet countryside. After checking the caravan was attached correctly, everything was turned off in the house, and she had loaded the carvan with what she needed, she pulled out of the driveway.

Once out of the city and on the open road, Sindy turned up the radio ,and was singing along to the songs she had forgotten she once loved listening to. The roads were cluttered with other holiday makers having the same idea. The cars and vans crept along the dusty road for some time, the heat rising as the morning was nearing the middle of the day. Sindy was thinking about where she was going, the tranquility of the open space. As the cars moved and slowly dispursed, thinning out as they went to their destinations.

Sindy drove along the quiet road, singing along to the radio. She saw the sign ahead, directing her to the camp site. Once she had parked up in a nice secluded spot. Turning the radio volume down, Sindy got out the jeep , heading to the site office to let book hersellf in.

" good afternoon Miss" the man said as she walked in.

"good afternoon, Ive just arrived and need to book in ."she said

The man behind the desk smiled and soon found her reservation.Sindy left the office and headed to the caravan, she was hungry and wanted to start cooking her lunch. She had bought a sandwich for the journey, but that had been a few hours ago. She hooked up the generator , and turned on the stove. Sindy soon had something cooking , a nice aroma could be smelt coming from the open window. She had loged into a video website on her laptop , and stood listening as she cooked.

Later, after a warm shower and settled in the caravan's fold-out bed, Sindy lay looking at her itinarary. She wanted to a relaxing time away, but also wanted to spoend time going for a nature walks, aswell as a day on the beach. the evening was hot and humid again and made it difficult to settle. Sindy lay awake wondering if she needed to open some more windows. She put on a candle that kept away the bugs and flies, and opened another window, just a jar so that a breeze could waft in, and allow some of the heat to escape.

It was some time in the early hours that she woke up suddenly , loud barking noises that sounded as if they were coming from the distance. Sindy wondering what it was, got up and looked through a gap between the curtains. She peered out slowly, trying to keep hidden incase there was something she didnt want to see, or to see her. Another loud bark came from the distance, Sindy then thought she saw something moving outside. She heard the noises getting closer as there seemed to be more than one thing running amongst the trees. Sindy moved quietly but hastily to the door and checked it was still securely locked. The chains were still both pulled across and the windows were locked in place. Placing her ear against the door , she listend intently to see if anything was directly outside her caravan.

As the dawn slowly spread across the sky, Sindy lay back down in her bed, she wasnt sure what was going on outside, but she couldnt fall back asleep. She didnt want to turn on the light, or make any noises, but wanted to make some tea to settle her nerves. Instead she pulled her covers right up to her face, almost hidden under it. Once it was daylight outside and an hour that deemed reasonable to be up and about, Sindy slowly opened the curtains on one of the small windows. Peering out through the window, it looked quiet ourtside, Sindy unlocked the door and slowly opened it , leaning outside to look around. The day was already quite warm, and sunshine looked promising, Sindy was curious, however and wanted to see if she could find out if anyone else had heard the barking, or knew what it was.

Sindy walked out towards the few scattered trees that stood on the edge of the camp site. As she walked further into the small woodland area , she could feel an anxiety build up inside her. She felt cold, but there was no breeze and the sun was shining , popping through the dense covering of leaves that hung from the branches. It felt eerily silent, as if she had stepped into another world, another time.
