The way weather can make you feel
85) Contradiction. 2001.

There’s something incredibly free
About the rainstorm
On a beautifully warm day;
Like a conflict of feelings
And torn thoughts,
Realizing it doesn’t matter anymore.
Should I live
Or should I die?
Do I really mind?
The storm that swirls
Within its sunshine calm
Calls to me,
Like the sun’s rays
From behind the pouring rain;
Like my smile coming through
Behind these saline tears
When I know I’m here
And I’m alive.
And I pause,
At peace with myself in this moment.
My freedom that stirs
The deepest emotions
As this weather
Rolls on across the earth.
And I know I am part
Of something much bigger
Than I ever believed in.
