Holding a newborn, and remembering the lost one
It's hard to imagine as I sit here
Cradling you in my arms
So content to rest
So trusting of me to gaurd you
You have little knowledge of what
The world will bring
For to you the world is
A blank sheet and open
A world of endless possibilities
Dreams waiting to happen.

It's hard to imagine 3 years ago
I lost my own day of holding my own
Against my breast and singing like like this
Hard to imagine
What he would have looked like
Would he have had our earthen hair?
Ocean or forrest eyes
His father's smile lines
His mothers stubborn chin?
It's hard to think on
What might have been
And what I long to hold.

Another day, another step
On a path to light.
Another smile to remember
You've given me.
A rememberance a wistful
Romance of memories
Another long embrace of dreams.
You'll be
Never far from my thoughts
Just beyond the reach of my arms
Forever in my heart.
