Looking in the mirror and reflecting, not only on myself, but my life
I met the mirror face-to-face
before the bandying took place;

"Where do I stand among my peers?"
I asked myself of fifty years.

No sooner had I made that crack,
the image smiled and answered back:

"You've shown that you're not from a mold,
or dull at half-a-century old,

you never fell for short-lived trends
or had to lie to make your friends,

you've had your faults, don't get me wrong;
that fact was proven your life long!

To summarize, your life's been sweet,
by landing always on your feet.

If you could have a second try,
would you remain, or bid 'good-bye'"?

I paused a while and heaved a sigh,
reflecting on the years gone by,

with satisfaction in my eye,
"In retrospect, I'd choose to die"...
