A poem about my "twin"--who isn't my biological twin, but a dear, dear friend.
To my one and only "twin" sister, Lizz--without whom I don't think I could've survived the past couple of months.I LOVE YOU, LIZZ!

Friends forever
You and I--
That's what we've promised, now.
But as life turns and tramples us--
what will become of that?
Who's to say
That you'll stay?

When I cry, you're always there
To help me dry my tears.
And when you cry, I do the same
Before I cry, too.
It always hurts to see you cry--
And I do my best to help,
But what happens when some day,
My best is not enough?
Who's to say
That you'll stay?

We're alike in so many ways
And so, twins, we've dubbed ourselves.
But what happens when we both grow up--
And don't have the desire
For childish pretending?
Will our promised friendship be enough--
To keep you by my side?
Who's to say
That you'll stay?

I called you mere moments ago
Just to hear your voice again.
For comfort and to relieve my stress.
You've done for me--
All that and MORE!
And as I examine my friendship bracelet,
I remember what you always say:
"I love you like a twin--and you know I really mean it, right?"
It brings a smile to my face.
So who's to say
That you'll stay?
You've said it everyday!
