sometimes help is not the only answer

Sweet Catastrophe

You are so close. Yet so solitary.
I know not where you reside now
But I have high hopes
On my destination
I don’t want to go lower
I need to find
All the pieces of my broken life

Come on sweet catastrophe
Focus my eyes
And burn my soul
We are done
And we’re afraid
You love you
And you don’t care

You broke the gate
Left no warning
Tied the rope
Jumped from that branch
I look up to you
You stare at the ground
With no life in your eyes
My eyes start to burn
With unshed tears
Were you never satisfied
You thought you were better off alone

No more tears will I see you cry
No more cuts will I see you with
No goodbyes and no ‘I will miss you’
This was not something you had to do
You were not alone
I was here for you
You left me too
Not just yourself

What happened when I left that night
Was it a misunderstanding
I was here
I was always here
My eyes still burn
From unshed tears
For wishful hope that you were here

You had told me you longed for something
Nothing in particular
Just something
For days, I wondered
Wondered what you wanted
I once had told you
That the secret I had
I would give you another day
I guess that day will never come
I never got to say
I love you…
