A bittersweet reminiscence of that first love
Now I reach the earth,
My wings long since gone
The road had many bends
But I knew that all along
I know it made me stronger
And I would rather not
Dream a dream just to
Keep your love at any costs

It's most tempting to give in
When I hear the firing shots
When I can still feel the cannon
Catapulting from the fiery depths
Contemplating all the ground
That's forever lost

With every shooting section
You and I just slipped away
Never having sweet satisfaction
If you'd just bought me flowers
Maybe I could have stayed
If you'd have thought me serious
Even for a day
If you had brought me flowers
Maybe I would have stayed

The seeds we planted grew
But not like the roses do
We had the thorns and leaves
But the buds they never bloomed

I needed a future that was bold and bright
Filled with sunlit memories that
Somehow felt just right
It's most tempting to give in when
You're almost at the top
When you can't see all that you have lost
But a home without flowers cannot bloom
And build sweet memories

So at the fork, I will travel to the right
And let the time of us slip away
Throughout the night
If you'd brough me flowers,
I might have been able to stay
But with no seeds to plant
There was nothing left to grow
So, with every shooting star,
You and I slipped away
